THE MUSEUM HAS MANY ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR 

THAT TYPIFY EARLY FARM AND RURAL LIFE IN 

NORTHERN NEW YORK STATE

     Favorite attractions during the year are

        Time for School

         Watermelons

         The Scarecrow

The parade starts with Marguerite Raineri, the Executive Director riding.

There were many tractors seen in 2006.  

Featured are scenes from the tractor pull, the egg contest, different makes, and a couple of future farmers of America.

  Building is part of the Stone Mills scene.

  At top left  timbers are being sawed;

 beams are being hewed;

and in 2009 there will be a post and beam Saw Mill.

        The Musem has interests that serve everyone.  Special programs are put together for children so that they may know how life existed more than a century ago.

         The programs for school tours and the Farmer Boy Days are especially structured so that children of all ages will have the experience of earlier days.

          A few of these activities are pictured at left, and include pumping water by hand from a ground well and hauling it to water livestock.  Riding is always easier, and at some time a lesson in grinding corn or fancy writing can be had.

          To truly know the depths of the educational experience at the Museum, one only has to take in the many opportunities at the Stone Mills Museum, maintained by the many volunteers and contributors at the Northern New York Agricultural Historical Society.
