Floppy disk installation of Internet Explorer on Win3.1

 

  1. Turn on computer and boot into windows.
  2. Put disk 1 in drive a:\
  3. From Program Manager click on file
  4. Select run
  5. Type the following:

    6. A:\iesetup.exe

  6. Click on OK
  7. The setup program will ask you several questions ANSWER yes, ok, done or whatever the affirmative choice is. The last question should be do you want to reboot your computer.
  8. After you computer reboots you will have a new program group "Microsoft Internet Explorer" double click it.
  9. In here double click on "Get on the internet"
  10. This wizard will collect some information to configure your computer to use the new software. Below is a list of the things it will ask for

    11. Your name à Your name or famliy name

    Your Username à The name you requested on the application

    Incoming (POP3) mail server à aldus.northnet.org

    Outgoing (SMTP) mail serverà aldus.northnet.org

    News(NNTP) server à news.northnet.org

    Primary DNS à 198.175.11.2

    Secondary DNS à 192.203.178.14

  11. You should now have a new icon labled NorthNet double click this and click on connect.
