The
Competition: The
First New York State Competition Originated in Watertown in 1985. Since
then, the competition has visited Buffalo, Sackets Harbor, Rodman, Lake Placid, & St.
Regis Falls, New York.
The
First competition in Snow Sculpting exhibited at an Olympic Competition occurred at the
1932 Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid, at the Lake Placid Club. The U.S.
National Snow Sculpting Competition was originated by Winter Fun Inc. in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin in 1985. In 1987,
The Olympic Winter Arts Festival Organization and Winter Fun Inc. organized and produced
the first Exhibition Sport Competition as a Demonstration Event for the 1988
Calgary Olympics. Since
this historic event, The Association
Internationale De Sculpture Sur NEIGE ET Glace and the Olympic
Winter Arts Festival Organization have produced three Olympic Competitions: 1992 Albertville, France, 1994
Lillehammer, Norway, 1998
Nagano, Japan. |
